Nicole Kidman Cast in "Stoker"


Nicole Kidman has been cast in the lead role in director Park Chan-Wook’s “Stoker,” The Inquisitor reports. The film, which is set to be released next year, tells the story of eccentric teen India, whose uncle returns to the family following the death of her father. People begin to go missing around her hometown, and India begins to suspect that her uncle may be the reason.
Kidman, 44, is set to portray the girl’s mother, Indiewire said. She will be joined by a cast including Matthew Goode, Jack Weaver, Lucas Till and Mia Wasikowska.
According to Inquisitor, not much else is known about the film. However, the news site notes that Chan-Wook’s previous films “Oldboy” and “Thirst” are recognized by twists and brutal subject matter.
The role is the latest for Kidman, who just dyed her hair peroxide blonde for her role in the upcoming thriller “Paperboy.” She will portray Charlotte Bless, a woman with a dark side who writes letters to men on death row, E! Online reported. The thriller tells the story of a reporter who returns to his Florida hometown in order to investigate a case involving a man on death row.
The film also stars Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron and John Cusack,
