Beyonce Knowles was born on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas, USA. She was born as Beyonce Giselle Knowles. Her father, Matthew Knowles is a Destiny's Child's manager and mother, Tina Knowles designs outfits for all Destiny's Child members. She has a sister; Solange Knowles is a musician and was born on June 24, 1986.
When Beyonce Knowles was seven years old, she was attending dance school. She was a soloist in her church choir. Because of her good performance, her dance instructor took her to various competitions. Beyonce Knowles won over 30 local dancing and singing competitions.
At the age of seven, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland (her cousin) formed the group Destiny’s Child. Her friends, Latavia Roberson and Letota Luckett were also with them. She and her group were discovered by Whitney Houston. Beyonce Knowles has written and produces so many songs for her group. The songs may includes "Bootylicious", "Jumpin Jumpin", "Nasty Girl", "Happy Face", "Independent Women", and "Apple Pie a la mode", etc.
As a teenager, Beyonce Knowles attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. After this, she went to Alief Elsik High School in Houston. Beyonce Knowles has a cat named Master P. She is a great fan of Middle Eastern dance and music. Wyclef Jean is her favorite rapper.
In 2001, without any experience Beyonce Knowles turned to acting. "Carmen: A Hip Hopera" was her first movie. Robert Townsend was the director of this movie. In 2002, "Austin Powers in Goldmember" was released. In this movie, she worked with top stars including Britney Spears, Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise and The Osbournes, etc.
In 2003, Beyonce Knowles released her debut solo album, "Dangerously in Love". A single, "Crazy in Love", was one of the biggest hits of that summer and stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart for eight weeks. Dangerously in Love's second single, "Baby Boy", featured Sean Paul, was also one of the biggest hits of 2003.
On September 4, 2006, her album, "B'Day" will be released worldwide and on September 5, 2006 in the U.S. to celebrate Beyonce's twenty-fifth birthday. Beyonce Knowles recently announced the formation of the Survivor Foundation, a charitable entity set up for the purpose of providi.
In 2002, Beyonce Knowles was featured as #3 in Maxim Magazine's "Hot 100 of 2002" supplement. In 2005, she was named #17 in FHM's "100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005" special supplement.
